Township Assistance
Emergency financial assistance is available for necessities based on family size and income. Assistance includes rental/mortgage payments, utilities, medical bills, burial expenses and food. Workfare programs are required for able-bodied assistance recipients. Must provide current ID and utility bill to read the township guidelines. Special Non-Tax Supported Programs
Food Pantry Qualified Township residents are referred to the Ross Township Food Pantry located at the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral staffed by volunteers and funded entirely through generous donations. Holiday Assistance Ross Township coordinates food programs for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter for eligible Ross Township residents. Donations from local business, churches, schools, service clubs, organizations, labor unions and generous local private citizens help us with providing holiday dinners for residents of Ross Township. |
Energy Assistance
Ross Township is no longer a designated energy assistance site. Contact Northwest Indiana Community Action for locations 219-794-1829 Bus Service Ross Township subsidizes bus transportation through South Lake County Community Services for the disabled and senior citizens of Ross Township. This subsidy allows riders to pay a discounted fee. Call 219-663-3869 to schedule a ride.
